Google Has Done It Again

Google recently bought Nest, which currently sells a smart thermostat that learns your habits and adjusts the temperature accordingly, and a personable smoke and carbon monoxide detector that doesn’t panic when you burn your meal. They weren’t satisfied the attention, and so, they decided to announce Google smart lenses that’s able to detect the glucose level in your tears, which would benefit those that suffer Type 1 diabetes.

So this is technology related, but what does this have to do with fitness? Well this is where things could get real fun. Google glasses has ridden a small wave, creating hype, but not really taking off for that surfable wave, but the smart lenses could have the potential to replace Google glasses, somewhat of an obtrusive and an ugly product, and have the ability to do so much.

For example, an app in Google glasses that functions as Maps and routes your bike rides, runs, climbing lines, or when to launch your parachute when skydiving. Maybe another app that detects your body level during your workout and determine whether you need more water, carb, or sodium – which could come in super handy during long races, such as ironman triathlons, marathons, bike tours, and so much more.

Just think of all the possibilities, it’s giving ironwaffle.me the jitters from just talking about it. This could take the fitness tech level to a whole new world. This is awesome. BOOM.

And on that note, have a safe and an amazing weekend everyone.
